Many people feel that candles are not safe to use? Is that true?

While candles are known to be one of the most leading causes of household fires the fact is that candles are safe if they are used with the safety precautions that are required. If you have bought a candle from a manufacturer then these need to be burnt in accordance with the instructions provided. When you are burning candles at home it is important that you never leave a burning candle unattended. There is no knowing when a gust of wind will cause a curtain to flutter and reach the fire.

It is also important that candles be kept away from pets and kids at all times. Another thing that can lead to the flame becoming extremely large and tall is a large wick. It is therefore important that you ensure that the wicks that you leave outside of the wax are just about large enough to give a good flame. Needless to say all candles should be kept away from flammable products at all times.

When you burn a candle and it starts to smoke, you should extinguish it immediately and check for what is wrong. You may want to check the wick that you have used and read the instructions again to ascertain that you have not done something wrong.

Last but not the least the candle holders that you use to keep specific kinds of candles should be chosen according to the specifications. There is a possibility of glass containers cracking if you are not careful about the grade that you have chosen.
